CLASS DESCRIPTION
Masterclass in ballet or contemporary styles (1.5-2hrs)
The masterclass consists of 3 parts: starting with a warm up, training with technique of the given style, and then moving into a combination that applies information given throughout class.
Ballet class will focus on finding length and breath within classical ballet vocabulary. Students will learn how to apply contemporary approaches to ballet form so that the technique will compliment their body and feel natural.
Contemporary class will combine strength training, body awareness, and improvisational techniques. Students will gain a deeper sense of self and a personalized movement quality.
Masterclass will finish with a Q&A talk with the students. I find this portion of the masterclass to be very valuable for students because it gives them an opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge in a comfortable setting. I love being able to share the lessons I've learned through my training in multiple styles and my professional experience in the current dance world. I share the experiences that helped me grow into the artist I am today and hope to get the students starting to ask themselves the question of who they want to be.
